To keep the North of England cooking on gas, we employ a wide range of talented folk, from Rapid Response Engineers, first to arrive on site if you report a smell of gas, to IT consultants, the clever brains behind the smooth running of our systems.

We also have a whole infrastructure of support people ensuring that we manage the business as efficiently as possible.

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we are always looking for people who share our passion for putting the customer first – whether they’re based in one of our several offices or out and about in the network.

Apprentice programme

Our apprentice programme provides comprehensive training for those from all walks of life and gives you the chance to learn while you earn through a combination of college work, on the job training and one-to-one mentoring.

We have a number of apprenticeship opportunities from Rapid Response Engineers – first on the scene when a member of the public reports a smell of gas – to engineers working as part of our mains laying team and administration and professional roles.

The inspire academy

Without enthusiastic, well trained employees, we simply can’t do our job.  That’s why we launched the inspire Academy to support colleagues at all levels in their learning and development.

Developed around our business strategy, the inspire Academy addresses three core areas – safety and compliance, customer and management development – and is an integral part of our performance management process.
