Based from Pontefract, the Operational Response Engineer works as a key member of the NGN emergency response team, which provides a 24/7, 365 days per year.
Being responsible for protecting life and property providing an emergency response service is an important role, for which we need people with passion and commitment to customer service and safety.
The Operational Response Engineer will involve working within a team as well as some lone working as the duties vary depending on volumes of workload, work type and seasonal requirements. During low volumes of emergency workload, the Operational Response Engineer will be required to undertake operative duties within a small team working on Repair, Connections or Replacement activities (this involves site preparation, excavation and assisting the Craftsperson/ Team Leader.
There is also a requirement for health and safety purposes for our operational colleagues to be clean shaven to ensure the Respiratory Protective Equipment can be worn - this will be discussed at interview.
